Portland Pilgrimage on September 29th at 2pm
PILGRIM LOST PODCAST LAUNCH PARTY
Pilgrimage. What images does that term generate in your mind? Robed ascetics? Distant lands? Sojourners? Sore feet? Pilgrim Lost began because we believe that the transformative aspects of pilgrimage can be intertwined within the most normal patterns of life…
Therefore, we have planned a mini-pilgrimage in our hometown of Portland, OR
for this Sunday, September 29th, 2019.
WHERE AND WHEN:
We are meeting in the Rose Quarter, outside the Moda Center near the large Crown Statue at 2pm. Come with walking shoes and an expectant spirit.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT:
Expect a pleasant walk across the Broadway Bridge, through Old Town, along the Water Front to the City Center. We will walk as a group. Along the way we will periodically stop and you will receive a thoughtful prompt to think about or discuss as you walk.
Pray for sun. Plan to meet someone new. Look forward to pilgriming with Portland neighbors as well as visits by: Mother Teresa, Rumi, Richard Rohr, Zadie Smith, Carl Jung and others.
I believe, in a very real, and yet undiscovered way, that the city is my “church.” It is the place where I walk and wonder. It is the place where my transformative relationships dwell. It is the stage of my spiritual struggles and joys. I hope that this Sunday afternoon provides another small chapter in my and your journey.
